Why We Should Use Ad Blockers

Today, internet is a very big place. We use it for many things like watching videos, reading news, playing games and talking to friends. But when we use internet, we see many ads everywhere. Ads are on websites, on YouTube videos, and even in games. Sometimes ads are just annoying. But sometimes, ads are dangerous too. This is why we should use ad blockers. First, ads can waste our time. When we watch a video on YouTube, sometimes we must wait 10 or 20 seconds for an ad to finish. Some websites have pop-up ads that we must close again and again. This is very boring and waste our time. With an ad blocker, we can stop most of these ads and enjoy our time better. Second, ads can be dangerous. Some ads have viruses or bad software inside them. If we click them by mistake, they can put bad things in our computer. This can steal our information like passwords or photos. FBI even said that people should use ad blockers to be safer on the internet. When FBI say this, I think we should listen carefully. There are many good ad blockers. One very good ad blocker is called uBlock Origin. It is free and it works very well. I use it in my Firefox browser. Since I use it, I see almost no ads. My internet is faster too. uBlock Origin is easy to install and does not use too much memory. It also blocks tracking, so websites cannot follow me easily. Other good ad blockers are AdBlock Plus and Ghostery. They are also free. Ghostery is very good because it can block trackers too. This makes internet faster and safer. But there is a problem. Companies like Google do not like ad blockers. Google makes a lot of money from ads. They sell ads on websites and YouTube. If people use ad blockers, Google make less money. So now, Google is fighting ad blockers. In Chrome, they are changing things to make ad blockers not work well. On YouTube, they show messages that say "turn off your ad blocker or you cannot watch videos". This is very bad for users. I think this is not fair. Internet should be a good place for users, not just for companies. Ads should not control everything. We should have a choice. If we want no ads, we should use an ad blocker. In conclusion, ad blockers are very important. They save our time, they protect our computers, and they make internet faster. FBI says we should use them, and many smart people use them too. I use uBlock Origin on my Firefox and I am very happy with it. Companies like Google are fighting ad blockers because they want money, but we should think about our safety and our happiness first. I hope more people start using ad blockers and make the internet a better place for everyone.
