Tails OS – A Safe Way To Use Computers
Hello everyone. Today I want to talk about a special operating system I sometimes use. It’s called Tails OS. I think it’s very interesting and useful, so I decided to write a blog post about it.
Tails is short for "The Amnesic Incognito Live System". That’s a long name, but it means something simple. It is an operating system that you can run from a USB stick. When you turn off your computer, Tails forgets everything. So nothing is saved, and no one can know what you did.
I like Tails because it is very safe and private. It uses the Tor network, so your internet connection is more hidden. Websites can’t know your real IP address. Also, it don’t save any files or history unless you really want it. This is good if you care about your privacy.
I sometimes use it in internet cafes or when I am using someone else's computer. Because I don’t want to leave any personal things on that machine. Tails helps me stay private. Also, it is small and easy to carry. I just keep it in my bag with a USB.
Installing Tails is not very hard. First, you download the Tails image file from the official website. Then you use a program like balenaEtcher or Rufus to write it to a USB stick. After that, you restart the computer and boot from the USB. Then you are inside Tails! You don’t need to install it on your computer.
Tails looks like a normal Linux system. It has a browser, a text editor, and some tools for encryption. But it’s not for daily use. It’s better for when you need more security.
For example, some journalists, activists, or people who live in countries with low freedom use Tails to stay safe online. But you don’t need to be a spy to use it. Everyone can use it for privacy.
I’m not expert about computers, but I think Tails is a smart tool. If you care about privacy, maybe you can try it too.
Thank you for reading!
