Why Should We Use Custom ROM

I have a Redmi Note 8 Pro phone with 128 GB storage and 6 GB RAM. It is a good phone but it is a bit old now. The software from Xiaomi was MIUI. MIUI is not bad but it had many problems for me. It was slow, there was many ads, and there was too much apps I don’t use. So I decided to install a custom ROM. Now I use Pixel Experience, and I am very happy. Custom ROM means a new software for Android phones. It is not from phone company, but from other developers. Many people around the world make and use custom ROMs. They make phones faster, cleaner and more secure. And they are not only for Redmi Note 8 Pro. You can use them on Samsung, Motorola, Realme, OnePlus, and many other Android phones. There are many different custom ROMs. Pixel Experience is one of them. It is very clean and looks like Google Pixel phones. There is no ads, no extra apps, just simple Android. Another good ROM is LineageOS. It is old and very famous. It works on many devices and gets updates fast. Some people also like crDroid or ArrowOS, they have more features but still light. Every person can choose the best one for their phone. After I installed Pixel Experience, my phone started to work faster. Battery life is better. I don’t charge my phone many times in a day. Also, there are no ads in settings or apps. This makes me feel happy. I like simple and clean system. Also, with custom ROM, I can get new Android versions. Xiaomi stop updates for my phone, but now I have Android 13. My old phone feels like new again. Custom ROMs are also good for privacy. MIUI and other company systems sometimes collect data. But custom ROMs like Lineage or Pixel Experience don’t do this. They are open-source. That means you can see the code and it is more safe. Some people think custom ROMs are only for old phones. But this is not true. Even if you have a new phone, you can use a custom ROM to remove ads or get better control. For example, I want to buy a new phone in future. I will still install a custom ROM. I like to control my phone fully. It is like your own computer. You can change anything you want. Of course, installing a ROM is not very easy. You need to unlock the bootloader, install recovery like TWRP, and flash the ROM. But if you read guides and go slow, it is not too hard. Many people do it. I was scared at first, but now I feel proud. I learn new things about my phone. Custom ROMs help you use your phone longer. You don’t need to buy a new phone every year. Just change the ROM and your phone works better. It is also good for environment. Less waste, less money. In the end, I think everyone who has Android phone should learn about custom ROMs. They are very useful, and they give you more power over your phone. It’s not only for old devices. It’s good for all Android phones. You can try Pixel Experience, LineageOS or other ROMs and see what you like. Maybe your phone can do more than you think.
